Data Source → Power Query → Data Model → DAX → Visualization

Connecting Data Sources #

What is Data Connection? #

It means importing data into Power BI from different sources.

Common Data Sources #

  • Excel files

  • SQL databases
  • Web APIs
  • Cloud (Google Analytics, Azure, etc.)

Steps to Connect Data #

  1. Open Power BI Desktop
  2. Click Home → Get Data
  3. Choose source (e.g., Excel)
  4. Select file
  5. Click Load or Transform Data

  • Load into Power BI
